Remote Recess
Take a Break with Colleagues and Learn Something Too!
Remote Recess sessions offer an opportunity for faculty to gather online and learn something new in a low-stakes, casual, and FUN way. Each session will focus on a topic (like Panopto) and a short demo, then the facilitator will open the session to Q&A. Participants are encouraged to share tips and tricks. These sessions are designed to help you decide how and when to use certain technologies and activities.

Poll Everywhere: Add Interaction to Online Sessions
Poll Everywhere is a free software that gives you the ability to turn your synchronous course sessions or meetings into an engaging experience. You can survey students to get instant feedback, build word clouds to find what participants think is important, have them ask questions anonymously, or turn your class into a chapter review quiz show. In our training session, everyone will get the chance to try out the different question formats and get ideas to integrate this tool into your online gatherings.
Please come to this session with an extra device like a smartphone or tablet, if you have one.
