FACULTY TEACHING SUPPORT

Faculty Consultations are available starting Monday, May 20th, 2024 through Friday, May 24th, 2024 from 11AM-12PM.

Educational Technologists are located on each campus and the teams provide faculty – and staff – training and support on Blackboard and other academic technologies, classroom AV, and provide technology that can be checked out to support instruction. The Educational Technology Support team can be reached with a central phone number for support across the District – 512-223-0111.

While Teaching & Learning Centers continue to serve as a single point of support for faculty and staff, TLCs include the following changes:

• • Spaces will be set aside for faculty to bring their own laptop. With a provided external monitor, keyboard, and mouse, users can take advantage of a drop-in workspace in close proximity to Educational Technologists.
  • Furniture will be updated to encourage collaboration between faculty, staff, and students.

Many of the Teaching & Learning Centers have already been remodeled and others are scheduled to be remodeled later this year.

All ACC Libraries will be CLOSED for intersession beginning on Monday, May 13 through Monday, May 27, 2024. During this time, faculty librarians are off-contract and staff will work behind closed doors on the first stages of a comprehensive collection inventory. Virtual reference and circulation support will be maintained 24/7 throughout intersession with a combination of our hourly librarians, library staff, and ChatStaff service.

E-resources are available at any time through the library website at library.austincc.edu. As always, chat live with a librarian is available 24/7.

• • Information literacy instruction from faculty librarians is available in-person, online, or asynchronously by request.
  • Faculty, we need to hear from you! Our faculty librarians are each assigned to select library materials and resources for specific subjects and disciplines. Contact your subject specialist with any questions or requests for materials.
  • Our award-winning research success tutorials are available to support you and your students – you can embed them in your course, link from the syllabus, or assign them as needed.
  • Librarians create and maintain subject guides for all areas of study, and you can request one be created specifically for your class or assignment by contacting any librarian.

Summer Hours:

Over the Summer Intersession, the library’s 24/7 chat service will remain available for library assistance.  The planned hours of operation for libraries for the summer are below.
