Mentoring

Overview

All new Austin Community College (ACC) faculty—both full-time and adjunct—must be assigned a mentor during their first semester. Other faculty may be assigned a mentor at the discretion of their department chair or upon request.

See Administrative Rule 4.0502.06 / GP 4.0502.06.1.

Faculty Mentor Training

To serve as a faculty mentor, training is required. The online, self-paced Faculty Mentor Training is available year-round and must be completed and renewed every three years.

To be added to the Faculty Mentor List, participants must:

    • Score at least 70 on the final assessment in the online training module.
    • Complete the interactive video portion of the course.
    • Retake the training every three years to maintain active mentor status.

Participants may take the final assessment as many times as needed to achieve a passing score. To access the Faculty Mentor Training you must be logged into your ACC credentials.

A list of Faculty Mentors is available.
