The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has mandated the integration of reading and writing instruction into one course. This training offers philosophies, techniques, and strategies for instructors qualified to teach INRW who are transitioning from stand-alone reading or writing courses to integrated courses.
The goal is to help instructors create an INRW course that incorporates themes, informational texts, low-stakes writing, just-in-time teaching, and portfolios.
Integrated Reading & Writing: Training Resources
This online training consists of five units designed to help qualified instructors develop their own integrated reading and writing curriculum for developmental students. Faculty will be able to design INRW courses that better prepare students for success in college.
