Office of Experiential Learning

The Office of Experiential Learning (OEL) partners with Austin Community College (ACC) academic departments to develop and maintain cooperative education programs. These experiences help students gain hands-on skills, build networks, and prepare for future jobs. At ACC, options include internships, academic cooperatives, clinicals, apprenticeships, practicums, field experiences, and capstones.

What We Do

OEL supports departments by:

  • Assisting with recruiting and vetting of industry partners, including providing active lists of open vetted internship positions for each departmental practicum each semester
  • Recommending collegewide standards for cooperative education courses
  • Training and assisting cooperative education faculty facilitators
  • Providing cooperative education training for employers
  • Collecting collegewide data on cooperative education programs

Working With 1,400+ Companies

OEL partners with city, state, and county agencies, companies, and nonprofits to develop internship programs and connect them with ACC departments with student interns. If you are a local employer interested in hosting an ACC intern, complete the request form.
