Past Piper Nominees
The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation annually honors 10 professors across Texas as Piper Professors for their dedication to teaching and outstanding academic, scientific, and scholarly achievements. Each honoree receives a certificate and a $5,000 honoraria.
The award’s purpose is to recognize excellence in teaching, rather than research, publication, or administration, though these areas may also be considered by the selection committee. With only 10 professors chosen each year from a pool of about 10,000 educators, the Piper Professor Award is one of the most prestigious honors for faculty in the state.
Department chairs submit nominations for this award.
