The Great Migration to Online Learning Survey

THE GREAT MIGRATION TO ONLINE LEARNING Survey Results Austin Community College faculty were surveyed at the end of the spring semester to collect feedback on the migration to online teaching due to COVID-19. Over 600 faculty responded. What technologies do faculty need to learn more about to support their online teaching? 53% Blackboard 51% Online Testing 41% Collaboration Tools How do faculty feel about the transition to online teaching? 72% Welcomed the opportunity to teach online 69% Saw benefit in integrating online experiences with in-person courses What can ACC/TLED do to support faculty? 48% said they would like tips and strategies about working from home 34% indicated they would like to be provided with a list of curated articles 23% indicated they would like online meet ups with their colleagues 41% Faculty extended deadlines to turn in assignments to be more flexible and support student success, equity, and inclusion

Due to COVID-19, the Great Migration to Online Learning Survey was administered to ACC faculty at the end of the spring semester to get feedback on their experiences. Over 600 faculty responded. The survey responses will be used to guide future steps in supporting faculty.

Device Check-Out for Faculty

Computer, books and other materials on a tableThe Office of Instructional Technology is providing various types of devices to support faculty in their move to teaching fully online. Faculty who are in need of technology can borrow devices throughout the pandemic, including iPads, webcams, microphones, headsets, etc.

Faculty who are in need of devices to support their online teaching should contact tled@austincc.edu.

Device Check-Out for Students

Laptops overheadIn partnership with Student Affairs, TLED Library Services and Instructional Technology has secured various types of devices to support students who do not have the necessary technology at home to complete their coursework in an online format. Included in these devices is 1000 iPads, a limited supply of laptops for students in specialized academic programs, webcams, etc.

Students who are in need of technology for their online coursework should complete the student technology access form.

The Office of Student Affairs will contact students who submit the form to provide additional information.
