Faculty Talent Onboarding
The Teaching & Learning Excellence Division (TLED) has partnered with Human Resources (HR) to create an experience for new faculty like no other. Our comprehensive orientation and onboarding program delivers online and monthly sessions to brand-new adjunct and full-time faculty. This semester-long program is designed to launch you into a successful career here at Austin Community College (ACC) and bring ease to your first semester of many here with us.

Spring 2024 Faculty Orientation & Onboarding Information
For all (Adjunct and Full-Time) Faculty New Hires and Rehires:
I-9 Verification: In-person at Highland Campus: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm from December 11th, 2023 to January 10th, 2024.
Workday Onboarding: Online and available from December 11th, 2023 to January 10th, 2024.
Note: Deadline to complete I-9 Verification (in-person) and Workday Onboarding (online): January 10th, 2024 before 5:00pm.
Welcome Bag Pick-Up Day
Come pick up a swag bag with ACC gear, a workbook to follow along during orientation, and your ACC ID. Also, a special guest will be there to greet you!

Human Resources Faculty Orientation
Mandatory for Full-Time & Adjunct Faculty:
- January 8th, 2024
- Full-Time Faculty: 8:30am-5:00pm – In-Person – Highland Campus, Bldg 2000, Presentation Hall 2.1550
- Adjunct Faculty: 2:00pm-3:00pm – Online

Virtual Orientation Option 1: Synchronous Online New Faculty Orientation
Orientation
January 9th-10th: Introduction to ACC & Course Preparation
- January 9th – 9:00am-3:00pm
- January 10th – 9:00am-3:00pm
Quality Matter Training
For Courses with a Distance Education Component (HYD, HYC, ONL, DLS, & FLX)
January 11th-12th: Quality Matters Training (Two options, Choose one)
- January 11th – 9:00am-12:00pm & January 12th – 9:00am-12:00pm
OR
- January 11th – 1:00pm-4:00pm & January 12th 1:00pm-4:00pm
Deadline to register for QM: January 8th at 5:00pm
Compensation
- $500 stipend for Full-Time and Adjunct Faculty attending and completing all QM sessions and alignment table.
Virtual Orientation Option 2: Asynchronous Online Quick-Start Orientation
If faculty cannot attend option 1, then they must complete a 4-hour Asynchronous Orientation. Faculty will be added to a Blackboard Course by January 17th, 2024.
Compensation: $200 (For Full-Time Faculty and Adjunct Faculty with a course assigned)

Monthly First Semester Onboarding for ALL Faculty
These two-and-half-hour sessions are offered in synchronous online environments and include one day and one evening option each month of faculty’s first semester
Compensation: Adjuncts: $54/hour
